Like a lot of other sports skydiving is depending on the weather. This applies to all skydivers but even more so for novice jumpers. Preferred weather conditions are nil to light winds and no clouds. As we all know the weather in northern Europe, especially in the UK and Ireland, is unpredictable and this often leaves students waiting around to make only one jump. This, however, is not the case for the middle of Portugal. There are no mountain ranges which can cause both relief rainfall and strong winds and we are away from the sea and therefore do not suffer from strong sea breezes.

Skydive Proença is open every weekend, from Friday to Sunday, and can boast of nearly 300 jumping days per year. With clear blue skies and lots of sunshine it makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Compared to other European countries the cost of living in Portugal is very low. You will find lower costs on food, fuel and entertainment. This is why we can offer the courses and the further training at such competitive prices in comparison with many other European drop zones.

Flying to Lisbon or Porto airports only takes only about two hours and the DZ is less than two hours north-east from Lisbon or south-east from Porto.

This makes it convenient even for a short weekend trip. You don't have to spend a whole day traveling or worry about jetlag.

Many of our customers have made us their home drop zone since the cheap travel and better weather conditions are an advantage over jumping in the UK.

You will have the same instructor on all of your jumps starting from ground school and staying with you until graduation. This means the fastest progression for you as your instructor will get to know your training needs and you can control the pace according to your own personal requirements.

Having the same instructor throughout also allows you to build up bond giving you more confidence on the ground and more importantly in the air.
Furthermore you will have your own equipment during the course which means no waiting until someone else has finished with it.
